It has literally been over a year since I've posted on this blog. I'm not good at it. I'm not a writer, I'm a quiet person. I keep to myself, so this blog thing is a struggle for me. A challenge for me. All I can do is try.
So lately I haven't been scrapbooking so much. I've been cross stitching. I learned to cross stitch several years ago. It didn't really stick at first, but I've found some more modern, pop culture oriented patterns, I've been designing my own patterns.
I have a wishlist of what feels like a mile long that I want to complete. Only a few patterns that I have bought and not completed, so I think that's all positive.

FINISHES
Vault Boy Pattern by Happy Stitch. This is the first cross stitch pattern I started back getting into cross stitching with. I found it online for free. I was in search of something I could make for Ryan for our anniversary, but I wasn't able to finish it before the date. But that's okay, he still loves it. I'm still in search of the perfect frame for it & I'm trying to decide if I want to modify the pattern and add a mushroom cloud or a frame and some words. So the matter of framing isn't high on my priority list yet. |
Pocahontas Pattern by PixelsInStitches on Etsy. I am a Pocahontas Fan from very early on. When I was a kid, I practically destroyed my VHS of the movie from watching it so much. I had all of the action figures, and still have my Meeko. I had/have all of the collectors cups and I will never part with them. When I saw this little pattern on etsy, I knew I had to have it. I'm a huge fan of PixelsInStitches on Etsy, Jess's designs are super cute and I want all of them. ALL OF THEM! Originally, I planned to do several of these disney inspired patterns and frame them together in an ikea frame I have from a photo project that got moved into a new frame. But, my Little Mermaid Pattern is longer and doesn't fit in the mat for the frame. So I either need to find a similar color fabric in a higher count or re-imagine the whole project. |
Game of Thrones House Banners Pattern by CloudsFactory. I bought this pattern almost immediately after it came out. I fell in love with it rather quickly and knew I had to make it. This one took me a few weeks to finish. I chronicled the whole thing on Instagram. I made mistakes, but I still love it. I'm a fan of CloudsFactory, but their patterns are a little expensive, so I have to be picky about which ones I purchase. |
Wash Your Hands Pattern by AmazingCrossStitch on Etsy. This was one of the quickest cross stitch projects I've made this year. I worked on this around Memorial Day and I finished it in just a few days. I've already washed, ironed, and framed this little guy. Since it measured less than 5x7 it was easy to find an unused frame at home. It's sitting next to my kitchen sink and I smile every time I see it. I'm planning to make more of these for my zombie loving friends for Christmas. |
WORKS IN PROGRESS
Epic Pokemon Generation 1 Pattern by Servotron. This pattern is truly epic, its enormous and extremely time consuming. It has all of the first generation Pokemon, 151 in total. I've stepped away from this project, but it's still a wip to me. I haven't given up on this one yet. |
Hogwarts House Crest Patterns by The World in Stitches on Tumblr. These are 4 free patterns found on Tumblr. Instead of stitching them each individually, I'm stitching all 4 on a single piece of fabric. So far this is turning into a great project and I can't wait to finish it and possibly move onto the Hogwarts Crest. I chose to put the crests in the order of Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff. |
